➤ Biography:
- Dr Samir R. Shah completed his M.D. in medicine from Grant Medical College, Mumbai in 1982. He is the first from Mumbai to do a DM in Gastroenterology at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. He has been involved with several international clinical trials on new drug development with presentations in international meetings and publications in peer reviewed journals. He has been the driving force to co-ordinate efforts to start a cadaveric Liver transplant programme in the country and Mumbai in particular. He has been involved in setting up National guidelines for Viral Hepatitis as a member of the technical resource group appointed by the NCDC, Ministry of Health and family welfare, Government of India
